


2005 was the first year for the Hong Kong Volunteer Award to be awarded in Hong Kong by the Hong Kong Council of Social Services. As the nominating organisation (the Matilda Sedan Chair Race Charities Fund), Eleanor Sackett, Executive Director nominated Anna for her work for the Matilda Sedan Chair Race Fund as the PR consultant since 2002. Anna has donated a considerable amount of time and effort in the past few years and her PR services for the Sedan Chair Race. For three years, she has worked with a student team from City University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Baptist University on the PR and Publicity for the organisation and event.
In the fall of 2004, under Anna's direction, the Sedan Chair Race received over US$300,000 in media and advertising value. The Fund raises money for over 25 local charities through the annual Sedan Chair Race and in 2004/2005 raised over HK$2.5 million.
In a 2005 presentation ceremony, Anna was honoured along with the other nominees for the Hong Kong Volunteer Award by the Agency for Volunteer Service and the judging panel included notable Hong Kong dignitaries Ronald Arculli and Christine Fang, Chief Executive, The Hong Kong Council of Social Services. The Hong Kong Volunteer Award and the nominees were publicised in the recent issues of the Ming Pao and Apple Daily newspapers.
Anna Fang is a past president of the Hong Kong Association of Business and Professional Women (1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, (2002), and 2003) and has been active with the Association since 1995. She raised the profile of the Hong Kong Association of Business and Professional Women through email marketing, networking, international conferences, implementing a corporate image building programme and founding a mentoring programme.
She has played an active part in the growth of the Association from 1996-2004. Some of the major initiatives and activities she has organised and implemented include:

- Creating and producing the Association's award-winning marketing materials (Membership Brochure and Mentoring Programme Brochure)
- Creating and producing the Association's award-winning website (www.hkabpw.org)
- Representing the Association at Hong Kong government meetings and events: (Women's Commission and Equal Opportunities Commission)
- Raising the profile of the Association in the local mass and business media
- Establishing the Association's profile among community, academic, corporate, small business and other non-governmental associations through attending business functions and community events
- Establishing a comprehensive email database of women executives in Hong Kong
- Implementing a long term plan on the direction and vision for the Association
